Kennady Schneider is a photographic artist living and working in Tucson, Arizona. As a recently retired NCAA Division 1 athlete, her work is highly influenced by her experiences as an African American woman navigating through the sports entertainment industry. Exploitation, Black feminism, untold narratives, and the tracing of history are all themes that Schneider explores through her highly performative works.
Schneider's work has been exhibited by The Center for Fine Art Photography (Fort Collins Colorado), Modified Arts Gallery (Phoenix, AZ), The Joseph Gross and Lionel Rombach Gallery (Tucson AZ), and her series #Black is the 2018 series portraiture winner for the 12th annual Julia Margaret Cameron Award--to be exhibited at the Gallery Valid Foto (Barcelona, Spain) in 2019.
